In case you are wondering which kind of cardboard box to use here is a brief introduction to the types of cardboard boxes that are most commonly used today.

Cardboard boxes are industrially prefabricated boxes and are primarily used for packaging goods and materials and for moving. Cardboard boxes can be specified uniquely by defining the size, style, cardboard grade, and any printing requirements.

Cardboard boxes are made from corrugated fiberboard. They are sometimes called corrugated cardboard or just cardboard. A cardboard box can be printed to promote its contents and this can be achieved with flexographic, lithographic or screen printing techniques.

What is the difference between single wall and double wall carton? Some double wall cartons can be crushed easily. Pick a box that suits your moving or packing needs.

Why use a new carton or box when a second hand one will do? A recycled box or recycled carton costs much less than a new carton.

And one last question: boxes or cartons? Most people usually say boxes rather than cartons.

Packaging Systems

Edible and biodegradable coatings help simplify packaging systems

In general, active food packaging systems can provide several functions that do not exist in conventional packaging systems.

Edible films and coatings can function as protective barriers for products. Because of the barrier function of edible films and coatings, the coated foods may not require high-barrier packaging systems.

In addition to enhanced barrier properties, edible films and coatings control adhesion, cohesion, and durability, and improve the appearance of coated foods.

Active ingredients and seasonings can be incorporated into edible films and coatings. Because of the environmental issues surrounding some packaging materials, edible films and coatings, as well as biodegradable materials, offer alternative packaging systems without the environmental costs that nondegradable synthetic materials may incur.

Natural active agents that may find use in edible film systems include enzymes, proteins, natural oils, carbohydrates, organic acids, fatty acids, pigments, flavors and spices. The migration of the active agents from the coating into the food will reduce the concentration of the active agents in the edible film and coating layers.
